Netrunner changes over time. Rules are revised, formats rotate, card pools develop, and balance updates can change whether a deck is legal. This page explains how to assess the information you find here: what supports a claim, when dates matter, and where analysis begins.
How we support factual claims
For current rules, formats, organized-play policy, card pools, and modern community releases, we prioritize current Null Signal Games resources. For card details, decklists, and deckbuilding workflows, NetrunnerDB may be used when it is the appropriate reference.
Sources should match the claim. A current rules document is more useful for a timing question than an old discussion thread. A dated balance update is more useful for tournament legality than an undated deck description. Our guide to the current Netrunner Standard ban list shows how readers can check time-sensitive legality information for themselves.
Dates and historical context matter
Modern Netrunner and the discontinued Fantasy Flight Games era are related, but they are not interchangeable. When historical Android: Netrunner terminology, products, or rules differ from the current community-supported game, we aim to identify the era and explain the difference.
Dates are especially important for rules, legality, set availability, prices, and printing options. Treat a date as part of the claim: an accurate answer from an earlier card pool may not answer a current-format question. Time-sensitive service details should be checked against the live site before making a decision.
Evidence, analysis, and opinion
A rules fact describes what the current rules or policy says. Editorial analysis explains the consequences of that fact. A strategy heuristic is a practical starting point, not a universal command.
For example, saying that a deck needs a coherent economy plan is analysis. The exact number of economy cards it should contain depends on its costs, draw, identity, and game plan. We aim to make that distinction clear so readers can reuse the reasoning in unfamiliar games rather than memorize one answer.
We do not present undocumented tournament results, testing, print orders, event attendance, or physical measurements as experience. More detail about these standards appears in the Editorial Policy.
Corrections and questions
If you find an outdated rule, incorrect card interaction, broken workflow, or missing context, email contact@netrunnerandroid.com or use the contact page. Please include the page, the passage in question, and, when possible, the current source that supports the correction. That context helps identify whether the issue is a factual error, a dated claim, or a difference in interpretation.
